Prophet David Agboola Akinyele is the shepherd of Celestial Church of Christ, Ogo Oluwa Parish, Ikotun. Ralph Akindele, the special project coordinator of Noble International Magazine had a chat with him in his office on how he commenced his ministry and what Celestial Church of Christ stands for.
Who is Prophet David Akinyele?
Prophet David Agboola Akinyele is a servant of God that has the mandate to populate the kingdom of light and depopulate the kingdom of darkness through the preaching of the undiluted words of God. Prophet David Agboola Akinyele is also a shepherd in charge of CCC, Ogo Oluwa Parish, Ikotun Lagos State, Nigeria.
Let have insight into your profile and ministry.
I bless God for where I am now in the ministry. The ministry started in 1990 at Taiwo street, Ikotun.We later moved to our permanent site here at church avenue off Musa street , Ikotun, Lagos in 1994. Since then, God has been doing His work among us because I don’t act outside God’s instructions.
What are the challenges you faced when you commenced your ministry and how are you able to overcome them?
Life itself is a challenge. There is no how you will want to venture into ministry without challenges. Even when God called Moses to go and notify King Pharaoh that he should let the Israelites go, Moses had challenges despite that God himself spoke to him (Moses) and that same God created King Pharaoh.Among the challenges we faced was the Landlord eviction without quick notification . That was when we were at taiwo street where the ministry started.It was difficult but we overcame through Jesus Christ who called me in the ministry.
What will you say about people that do believes CCC is a fetish church?
Laugh, Celestial Church of Christ is a spiritual and holy church.There is nothing we do in CCC that is not in accordance to the bible.Darkness and light are two parallel lines.Celestial Church of Christ is light and God says we are the light of the world.To be sincere,there is no organization, or church you will not see black sheep.In CCC, we do not wear black or red clothes .The doctrine of CCC is against drinking of alcohol and smoking. Eating of any animals that crawl are forbidden for CCC members.
Can you throw more light on the meaning of using candle sticks and wearing of white sutana in CCC?
Hallelujah! We all know that white symbolize holiness. We are wearing white sutana because we are practicing what we will be wearing in heaven after rapture .No other clothe is used in heaven expect white garment according to the bible.For example, when they want to demonstrate satan, they will use black but when demonstrating Jesus, they use white .There is nothing like wearing of suit in heaven.Let anyone that Claimed to have seen Jesus in trance or dream come out and tell me the kind of clothe he was putting on .It can never be suit . As for the candle sticks, in the book of revelation 1:1-10,Jesus Christ appeared to Apostle John in the dream and told him to write down whatever he sees. What John saw was candle sticks which represents the symbol of Jesus Christ.Its not for every church .Roman Catholic churches also uses candle sticks.
As a God’s general that has read bible from genesis to revelation,what is your favorite verse?
Every verses in the bible are for purpose and we’re written through the inspiration of God . I mean they are the messages from God . I prefer Psalm 51. The book of revelation is a book that I reads a lot. It always make me to be careful and always check myself as a Christian and shepherd because both heaven and hell are real. No genuine Christian will want to miss heaven.
As a shepherd in CCC, where do you see the church in the next 10years
I pray that before then, the church will retrace their humble beginning and act in one accord .Now , the church is facing some challenges.I believe that very soon by God grace,God will wipe away the black sheep from the church.
Sir, what has life taught you?
Since I became the shepherd ,I have never regret my action from day one.Life has taught me to solely depend on God and not human being .Human being can disappoint but God will never.
Who is your role model as a God general?
Precisely, I can’t say that I have one but there is a great man of God I really appreciate and value in the ministry.His name is Prophet Anisere, he is now in USA .He was the rector of the CCC Seminary,Idimu.He is a man of his words. He never dilute God’s for his purpose because he wants to make quick money and have large congregation. He always encouraged us( students) then to always be in spirit and of good faith.
What messages do you have for young shepherd looking up to you as their role model ?
My advice for them is not to join occult fraternity because they want to make quick money or want their congregation to be filled up with members. Vanity upon vanity. They must also be prayerful because they will always face challenges but once they stick to God who called them , they will always overcome their challenges.They must also be focus and not be distracted by the things of the world .
What advise do you have for Nigerians as we are under new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu?
God really loves Nigeria and I believe that God will take the nation to the promise land. Everyone also needs to contribute our own quotas .I also advise the Christians to involve in politics and stop allowing the unbelievers to take charge. So, they must engage themselves in politics.
