Madam Rachael Fehintola Onifade marked her 90th birthday in a spectacular celebration befitting her years of grace and service.
The event which took place at Kings Mega Resort Event, Ilesa-Ife road, on Saturday was filled with grandeur, glitz and glittering gold décor, attracted distinguished guests, including monarchs, celebrities, friends, family and well-wishers who gathered to honour a woman described as a rare gem.
Her Golden Son, Bukola Onifade, hosted the celebration in appreciation of his mother’s selfless love and lifelong sacrifices.
He described her as “a mother in a million” whose prayers and guidance shaped the destiny of every member of the family.
Addressing the gathering, the nonagenarian, Madam Rachael Fehintola Onifade expressed gratitude to God for sparing her life to witness 90 years.
She prayed for her children and grandchildren to live long, prosper and surpass her achievements.
Her younger sister, Madam Modupe Oyedeji, emotionally recounted their childhood memories, lauding the celebrant’s humility, perseverance and deep faith.
She added that Madam Onifade had been a pillar of strength to the entire extended family.
Similarly, another son of the celebrant, Mr Fisayo Onifade, described his mother as a disciplinarian, counsellor and prayer warrior whose impact transcends family boundaries.
He said, “My mother’s life has been a lesson in hard work, patience and faith. She taught us that success means living truthfully and helping others rise.
” He added that her story remains a beacon for younger generations.
Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude Tegbosun III, the Olowa of Kuta, Osun State, commended God’s faithfulness in Madam Onifade’s life, describing her longevity as “a divine gift worthy of celebration.”
He urged the younger generation to emulate her devotion to family and community.
The celebration also featured cultural performances, heartfelt tributes, and musical renditions that illuminated the atmosphere with joy and nostalgia.
Guests took turns to eulogise the celebrant for her generosity, leadership and unwavering faith in God.
As the event drew to a close, Madam Onifade offered her blessings to everyone present, urging them to continue to live in love, unity and service to humanity.
The ceremony ended on a graceful note, with guests leaving inspired by the remarkable legacy of a woman whose life exemplifies resilience, compassion and enduring faith.
